ABOUT THE JUNIOR

The 10th Annual Junior Invitational Golf Tournament will be held on Sunday, May 16th at Onondaga Golf and Country Club in Fayetteville, NY.  There will be a 12:30pm shotgun start and the field will be limited to 90 golfers.  Any high school golfer in New York State is able to submit an application to play in this tournament.  Due to COVID, we cancelled last year’s event, but the 2019 tournament was a huge success as we had golfers from across the State compete on our challenging golf course (site of the 2017 U.S. Junior Amateur Sectional Qualifier and 2022 New York State Men's Amateur).  Mr. Johnny Gruninger from Syracuse, NY defended the boys’ title by shooting a three under par score of 68. Ms. Jayde Ford from Rochester, NY, captured the girl’s title by scoring an 83.

The Junior Invitational Committee will be inviting high school golfers based upon their 2019 and 2020 tournament success to play in this year's competition.  These invitations will arrive via email which will be sent out during February.  Invited players do NOT need to complete a golfer tournament resume/application for the Junior, but must register online for the event (click here).  Golfers who do not receive an email invitation in February must complete a resume/application online for consideration by the Junior Committee.

Please note that the due to COVID-19, the Mike Heib Memorial has been cancelled. Therefore the 2021 Upstate New York Junior Championship, a Junior Golf Scoreboard ranked 36-hole tournament counting the rounds from both Mike Heib Memorial and Onondaga Junior Invitational, will not take take place this year.
